The Zlín Elementary School, 4338 Kvítková Street,

is situated in the centre of the town. It has specialised in extended foreign language teaching for decades.

 

English classes

• 1^st and 2^nd year – two English lessons a week

• 3^rd to 5^th year – three English lessons a week

• 1^st – 5^th year – Art classes taught in English, other subjects supported by the CLIL method

• 6^th – 9^th year – four English lessons a week

 

Second foreign language

(French, German, Spanish)

• is taught from 5^th year

• 5^th year – three lessons a week

• 6^th – 7^th year – four lessons a week

• 8^th – 9^th year – three lessons a week + an optional lesson of conversation and further language practice

• For students of German Art classes are taught in German

 

Third foreign language 

(French, German, Spanish)

• is optional for pupils in 8^th and 9^th year – one lesson a week

 

Further possibilities to enhance language skills

• Language teaching is supported by the offer of afternoon language seminars.

• Our secondary students can also enrol into an English club taught by a native speaker.

• Our students are able to take language exams based on their current language knowledge level (determined by the number of completed language classes). The Cambridge Exams for English, the Fit in Deutsch for German and the DELF A1, A2 for French, DELE for Spanish.

• Our older students can practise their language knowledge even during the trips to Great Britain, Austria, Germany, Spain and France, which are organized by the school.

• The school also arranges school exchange trips.

Due to the fact that our students pass their secondary school entrance exams successfully only serves to reflect the quality of the educational process in the school.

Within the school there is also a kids’ club for our primary pupils. It runs daily from 6:30 am to 5 pm, but until 4:30pm on Fridays. There is a wide range of free-time activities offered in the kids’ club.

In the school canteen healthy and high-quality food is offered (also for those who maintain a gluten-free diet), children can usually choose from two different dishes.
